He was surprised and he was truly impressed with what you said! That is the most important audience you could ever have! If your daddy knows that you love him, there is no greater wind under your wings. You did it, girl!
He blamed my family's influence for your brevity. I am glad to see that you are not a long-winded preacher woman. You got to the point and placed tears in your father's eyes. I would say that you are a real tiger, with words! Super shot! Love MOM"Hope Thou in God!" Trying to encourage myself in the Lord and see His wise guidance. I would hope that my 6 children would read and see the way to go and not to go.

Third babies and after are quick to move out of the way, but don't miss the wonder!
Yesterday, Malia made herself endeared all the more. She is so observant and always carrying on gibberish conversations with me about this and that thing. We have alot in common, it seems. She doesn't try to get too much attention and she has a very short temper. She was the very last to get a one on one, with Ms. Jayne. She grabbed my face, instead of her bottle and put her finger on my chinhair. You know what she was saying. How come you haven't pulled at this one? What a little observer? She knew that I had gotten all the rest of them and she kept her finger right there until we finished the feeding.
Don't miss little moments like that with child number 3 or 4 because you think you know them all!

Is this Gibraltar? or Trafalgar? A Wonderful, Historic Match!
We miss a little something in competition, when we try to play and do things minus a royal expectation. Our President means a lot to us. He might frequent a game or so,etc. But today when the Spanish King was there to watch the youngster vanquish her seasoned elder competitor, there was a marked improvement to her game. The advantage was palpable. The first set, they were equals. There was no age to them. There was no physical prowess to overcome. Mental confidence has always been Muguruza’s strong suit and Venus’ weakness.
England was a neutral playing field. Neither had a home court advantage. Both had as hard a grooming for the final and their performances were showing a common ratio of winners to errors. The stats promised an interesting match. The royal advantage proved a major factor and not an incidental one….

Shined Shoes?
You were able to clean yourself up nicely and get to the wedding and back in time to celebrate the birthday with Dad. Hooray for you. You cleaned up very prettily with your sister. I especially loved the shiny shoes. You didn't even have to shine them yourself.I had occasion on the 4th of July to watch Long Gray Line with Tyrone Power. It was amazing how the men at West Point make shiny shoes an integral part of life. Are you in? Your shoes are shined, if you are and they are not if you're not. It's not just ostracisation, it is a symbol of the training that they have experienced. Their senses of respect and respecting have been buffed and shined to reflect the training of the "same master". In their case it is America that they reflect. A father, in the patriotic sense has given them a voice of leveling and a place of rank that identifies them on the ladder of service. No one is number one in that ranking, but they subject their respect and respectability to the same standard. They look at things like cords and stars and know what that has meant in the lives of the one wearing them. They condition their voices to rise and fall according to the same standard of respect and respectability. Insubordination is tasted on the tongue, as it were, at its first impulse. That is a unity that God has blessed over these 200+ years of attempted democracy and in as much as it is "under God", we can expect that it will continue to be blessed. As soon as we place our standard as the god of our submission, we are cursed. That seems to be what sent the Demons to hell. The shine of the glory of respect can become blinding in its beauty. I wanted to say to you in your shining beauty, yesterday,"let not your cosmetic be..." But I caught myself, lest that be the thing to keep you from being yourself in the enjoyment of your good time. Today, I can say it, "Shine the shoes, but keep the heart humble!"

my thoughts this week with the babies. Is melancholy a controlled or inherited problem?

You have always been Quivercly Quizzical. You always ask me question about my fertility of children and of thought. This is today's answer...
Open thy doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour thy cedars.
Zechariah 11:2 Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down. Zechariah 11:3 There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.Z
echariah 11:10 And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people. Zechariah 11:11 And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.How God grafted us in, from Israel He cut! The specifics of God’s pruning method in grafting us in. The beauty of the Lord was cut in two. Bands was also cut and the gentiles were grafted between these two parts of God’s self. 30 pieces of Silver? When we care not for the poor, we are acting like the Jews did, when JEsus was crucified. He was God's most beautiful and banded branch of Himself. God cutting off of himself to let us in, is a most precious thought. I decided to try to root some of my precious plants and see, if they will reroot in good soil. Maybe?

Lessons from listening to people who speak, considering their consciences.
Listening to different kinds of Christian people, some who have been taught a sensitivity to conscience, that I haven't matured to yet, has become refreshing. Is the truth something that we beat out of people in an investigatory tone? Is it a beautiful thing that a man is speaking according to his conscience and taking his time to answer, using words that are "accurate to his recollections". Do we give people that right? The right to answer the question, in good conscience. What does that mean? Are we learning in our interactions to be more honest in our dealings, or to bulldoze a man's conscience to get at truth? Some truths need a bulldozer. Some truths need a tweezer. Learn how to listen and request information that will grow you and your "inquisitee".This is not the Spanish Inquisition!
Ananias and Saphira were killed because of their lying to the Holy Spirit and the fear of God should be developed in our use of words. When we have found a person who has great ability of speaking in good conscience, we should be more ready to listen and to hear how to do the same. Even if it takes a long time.

Just as the tears were about to fall missing Evie... I spotted a line of clouds that made me laugh.
Somehow, departures always remind mother about the years of nursing my baby Evi and the little fiddle, fluting girl who was "on the bus with Rosa Parks" in kindergarten.
Where did the time go? we probably meant to say. We didn't because we didn't want to make each other cry. Still, your father goes on, trying to encourage me, with cliche's about making the right use of the years of baby and child development experience that I have. Oh, you should write about it. He says, as he always does. Nobody has any use for a "wet-nurse" experienced woman, was what I was about to say about 3 hours into the trip home.
That is about the time that we notice our surroundings. The clouds broke up and we started to see the sky. It was delightful and there were a series of curvaceous clouds that looked like a straight line of brassieres across the sky. I always blame "Mother Day" from Life With Father for these occurrences. I could almost hear them singing "Our daughters daughters will adore us..." as they flung what looked like the monument of their own motherhood across the sky in front of us.
None of that milk went to waste, I imagined and I had to laugh instead of cry, missing you! Love mommy
