"Hope Thou in God!" Trying to encourage myself in the Lord and see His wise guidance. I would hope that my 6 children would read and see the way to go and not to go.

Lactical Errors?
I took my storehouse of Oats out to make sure that they weren't spoiling in the cabinet. I have a huge store of oatmeal and the children aren't eating much hot cereal in the summertime. This time it reminded me of the provision of God and how much we take it for granted. Like the milk that I gave my children when we first met. The greedy lot of them guzzled and guzzled and very often I was feeding them when I should have been burping them or changing them. They shut up for a minute, when they are being nursed. Now that I don't have a plug to shut them up in tow, it is alot harder to interact with them. And I find myself making the same lactical error as I did the very first minute I became a mother. Too much nursing for too long, too soon. Food is not always the only worry, although it seems to be.

Midnight Blues?
It is so precious to injest the final and hopeful sighs of the next generation as they launch into new spheres of effectiveness. It is not without its own groanings and growing pains.
Our car becomes a thinktank, our bedroom becomes a crying bench or laughing room or praying site. Everything is a drama between 18 and full flight feathers.
"Why is "he" looking at me?" "Why isn't "he" looking at me?" Que Sera...Que Sera days, I call them.
Not at all like the questions of yesteryear, "Why is the sky blue?". Things have become very myopic and still very beautiful as I fight to stay involved in their lives.
They are growing away. I am growing old. No longer attached at the hip and still every once in a while my hip feels empty. Then every once in a while back they come to my hip and I say, "What is this extra weight stuck to my hip?" Its me mother, "Will I be...?" Que Sera...
That is very often just enough.

Nothing Could Be Finer...
Than to be in Carolina... in the morning.
Saturday's beautiful weather found us out at our favorite family picnic spot. This time we got there well before noon, all eight of us, minus Emma (the dog). We couldn't fit her and the bikes at the same time.
We grilled eggs and bagels and sausage on the beautiful, waterfront decks and watched the sun and the wildlife from the deck and rode bikes and walked. The only downer was that no one wanted to take me on in tennis. I went with Emily and that was after much cajoling. Woe is me. 1/2 an hour and she was whipped, not before coming up with a new backward backhand grip that took the ball up into the air so far that it was like she was playing on the court upside down. It was fun to laugh at the foibles and funny things on Saturday.
Ethan took her place when she gave up and he is starting to get the hang of things on the court and really making contact. We will see...
We grilled hot dogs for lunch and ate to our hearts content. It was very hot out there, but I wouldn't let them see me sweat...much.

Shin and Taw...
The Last 2 days of Psalm 119 and a beautiful hand crafted book created by Evelyn of the Hebrew alephbet, I'd say we had a profitable meditation of those thoughts and scriptural directives. We learned alot and grew together. Everybody didn't get all of the sessions, maybe we'll do that again and maybe we'll start on the Greek alphabet next and start in the New Testament.
I think I will call them the "young Theologues". They don't even know it's theology...:)

Sunday night pics

Sitting in the car seems to be a tradition in our family and we had the funnest time taking pics and enjoying one another's company while waiting for Dad to come out of the store. We could've fought about stuff, there is always something to fight about. This time we made it a sight seeing trip, looking into eachother's eyes is a sight for sore eyes. Seeing the flash in the dark and posing in the parking lot was fun and amusing and alot better for us than beating eachother to a pulp.

"Resh" is the day my pot top broke!
:( My favorite pot top burst into pieces. I won't say who did it and it really doesn't matter. It is gone and it can be replaced but it is so sad to imagine its being gone. A gift and a very sweet gift and cherishedly used, if not carefully, certainly gratefully. Everything has a season.

It rained torrentially
last night. Ginger and Snap and all our garden were very grateful for the water. Our grass is greener this morning and yesterday's 100 degree temps seem just a quaint memory. It was hard to breathe the 100 degree air and all you want to do is lay down and sleep. I did. It is summertime and after work, I wasn't even that hungry, I had a snack and went to bed.
Today is Koph day in our Hebrew alephbet, Psalm 119 verse 145 should be my theme song, "I cried with my whole heart" I am grateful that the psalmist helps us to remember that like the 100 degree temperatures yesterday, there is a day after the cry day. Cried is in the past tense. Some Psalms say I am crying to you O' Lord, this one says I did cry and hope and trust and You are near. That is true that there is air, even when the heat makes it hard to breath and there is God, even when the circustances cause a downcast countenance.
God does not despise us lamenting our sufferings like people do. "Enough, already!" is what people say or want to say. God never says that. He hears our cries and is near to our broken and contrite hearts.
