Zain or "in" Zain Day

To the tune of Auld Lang Syne by Dan Fogleberg

I met my children at the grocery store,
and it was very hot outside,
I told them I would like to splurge for them,
It hastened all our strides

I said you're growing at alarming rates,
I can't keep up with all you say,
They said, just buy us something edible and then we can go away

We bought a chocolate bar for me to keep,
Some cheese nips and a cherry coke,
We could've thought of a nutritious snack,
But it wouldn't fit the joke,

We drank our toasts to innocence we drank our toasts to NOW,
Trying to inject in them a hope in life,
But never knowing how...

As we toasted to our hearts' content,
Split 20 ozs. in 4 ways,
Yuck, Yuck, Yuck,
We laughed at BACKWASH jokes
til we didn't know what else to say

Our tongues were tired and our lips were blue,
They all said they would have to leave,
A box of Cheese nips couldn't be more fun...

Devoted to doody

Sometimes, it feels like the only thing that I am expert in is analyzing the type and quality of poop. 20 something years of changing and analyzing poop and other undescribables, just to see the children jump from mess to mess makes a person tird-crazy. Beedy eyes are starting to form on the back of my head and often times no one can understand what I'm talking about. It is my DEVOTION to DOODY or Prescribed to Poopy or Bedazzled to Booboo!

Ethan's new book is called All about GAS, Flatulence, Burping and the like... We make asides of humor by calling attention to gas forming products in our systems. Something far outside of the realms of reasonable decorum. If it weren't for decorum, we would have nothing to laugh about.

Ezra's poopy stuff is about when is he going to stop making that poopy noise with his mouth? At first, it was cute, when he was a baby and now it is akin to the oinks of a pig made, just about everywhere. Will they ever learn decorum? Will I ever learn decorum!

Gingivitis, but no cavities for Em! The breastmilk did her some good, after all...

God's Well-made Table

The table cloth and the sumptuosities enjoyed on the Lord's Day are unmatched. God doesn't feed us from a trough, as our activities would expect. He sets the table and designs the china and table settings and we eat and are filled and are equipped for the week's work. Halleluia, What a Savior!

Rainy days and WAW day...

The morning dew was still on the grass. Our lungs felt awake, if our sleepy eyes were still not fully awake when we were trudging out to the courts for Day WAW at "camp coocoo clock" A few good rallies had me simply drenched, as usual, even though the weather was not as hot as it had been. Picking up balls and playing ball machine for my Walkerlings gets me completely soaked, as well as psyched.
I walked to the corner to pick up a stray ball when my soaked face felt the sensation of icky, sticky stringy spiderweb all over it. If I were a fly, I would have been his dinner right now, instead I was pulling the once beautifully woven strands out of my nose and mouth. Oh, Well! Next time, I will look before I bend down to pick up the balls...

"Hay" Day/ He'

Enoch hit his sister today, with the tennis ball, by accident. She was more emotional than injured. She was ready to give up the sport, for one injury. I hope she perseveres. Apologies, accepted, she trudged on. We have made it through one full week of tennis and I have 4 of my children at least given the instructions on all of the skills. It is up to them, what they do with it. 2 to go...

Children are a heritage. If we unite with the purposes of our fathers there is much that can be accomplished and this is why the devil is dispatched to subvert the work of the family in the lives and replace it with the village. Village is needed, if village is supportive of family...

Breakfast with the Bunnies!

Only Mr. Bunny was out to greet us at the tennis courts. He told us Mrs Bunny runs a tight ship and had breakfast on the table at 6:15 and he had the children waiting for us and at 6:18, he let them go to breakfast.
We saw him at 6:20 because we were late and the entire community of animals out at the park, got a kick out of the fact that we were a family of humans that were out there learning a new skill at 6 in the morning.
Still only 1/3 of my children were stalwarth to enjoy the sunrise and an hour of tennis with mom. Enoch is getting better and hitting the ball more consistently in and we are able to have a rally now. Ezra is learning. he chased the birds and the balls.
Virtual reality is hitting the ball against eachother and learning to think and act in syncapation with eachother. "DS" threatened our time together with Ezra. I confiscated it.

Will try to keep up with the overflowing quiver. Dr. glasses, dentist appts. Dear God, Please give me grace to keep up with my quiver.
Now I put my game face on and am off to work!!!

The Last Day of School

Hurray, or Laments,

Depends on your point of view. Today we are celebrating, but tomorrow, it is back to the drawing board!

The Summer agenda is as follows:
4-5 devotions and dress
5-6 wake and dress children
6-7 Tennis at the courts
7-8 Take Ben to work
8-9 pick up children from the courts
10-11 get ready to go to work
11:30-8 Go to work, pick up Ben after work and jump into bed...

Can WE DO IT?
Nothing beats a failure but a try.
Trying to get the family to work on a cross stitch or embroidery, quilt to mark our 3rd summer here and a boys program for developing character. It is time to introduce my beloved historic Horatio Nelson to my sons for study and perusal. He is a hard character to introduce and discuss. There is so much good vailed in so much mess.
I am trying to read the Trumpet of the Swan onto the MP3 player and post it for the children and rewriting Aunt Pauline's journal for the family... Much to do... Oh well, back to the old drawing board...
